Reiki is a holistic, simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self improvement that aids in the healing of your complete self. Mind, Body & Spirit (Soul) that everyone can benefit from. It is a Japanese technique that aids in stress reduction, relaxation and promotes peace and a sense of calm.
The practitioner administers the treatment by placing hands on or above specific parts of the clients body. It is based on the notion that we are surrounded by "life force energy". This energy flows through us and if it is low, then it is easy for us to become ill or feel stressed, and if it is high and in balance then we are happier, less stressed and healthier.
The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words - Rei which can be translated as "spirit", "soul", "wisdom", "sacred" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually, "spiritually guided life force energy."
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki works in conjunction with other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects, manage pain and promote recovery and is being accepted in some Canadian hospitals. In 2013 a study that focused on Canadian hospitals was published in the Journal of Palliative Care. The study found that providing patients with reiki treatments led to lower levels of discomfort, restlessness, anxiety and pain. Reiki treatments were also associated with mood improvements. The study ultimately concluded that reiki was a valuable addition to the treatment options offered at the hospital. Mindfulness Meditation is the practice of purposely stopping and being present in the moment. The practice of being mindful is very simple. However to actually be mindful can be one of the most difficult things to achieve. Getting in touch with what is going on with you and your body in the present moment without judging or trying to make changes takes a great deal of practice.
The more you practice the better you feel.
There are seven main Chakra's and twenty one minor Chakra's. When balancing your Chakra's I will concentrate on the seven main Chakra's. Each Chakra is like a spinning disk of energy which rotates or spins in a clockwise direction.
When our energy is out of balance, one or more of the Chakra's can be spinning too slow, too fast or even sometimes counterclockwise. Sometimes a Chakra will even stop spinning completely, which means you have a blockage.
During a Chakra Balancing Session, the practitioner assesses the flow of energy, removes any blockages, evens out the energy flow from all the Chakra's and will cleanse the Auric field. When your Chakra's are balanced, in most cases you feel balanced and lighter.
As a Reiki practitioner I use a crystal pendulum to determine the condition of each Chakra. By using a pendulum this gives the client a visual of each Chakra and a sense of the flow of energy.
By talking with the client and learning how the client is feeling the practitioner can get a sense of which chakra(s) are blocked or out of balance.
